About Us

Stewards of Sc'ianew is a First Nations non-profit society located in Sooke, BC. As a society we are working towards building strong relationships with other like minded groups and individuals by sharing our culture and teachings through indigenous plant re-introduction and removal of invasive plant species. We are aiming to re-introduce many native plant species to the area, many of which have both cultural and medicinal significance to the Sc'ianew First Nation peoples. Sharing these teachings and experiences with both the young and old, of all peoples, is an important aspect of the Stewards of Sc'ianew mission. The youth will play a vital role in this project learning the teachings, of both past and present generations, and continuing these traditional practices for generations to come.
