About Us

We are a 100% first nations Guided non profit geared towards learning, teaching and sharing about land restoration through a cultural lens. Bringing in like-mind-ed individuals from surrounding communities to enhance our understanding of land restoration, giving us the tools to be better prepared to make immense strides towards a healthy, sustainable environment which also brings back cultural practices in traditional remedies, food, healing and spiritual work. Some of the board members represent households within our community. Stewards of Sc'ianew is a First Nations non-profit society located in Sooke, BC. As a society we are working towards building strong relationships with other like minded groups and individuals by sharing our culture and teachings through indigenous plant re-introduction and removal of invasive plant species. We are aiming to re-introduce many native plant species to the area, many of which have both cultural and medicinal significance to
